Texas County, MO — A Houston, Missouri man has been charged after authorities say a series of threatening phone calls prompted a lockdown at a Texas County nursing facility late last month.

According to court records and local reporting, Jacob Leon Evans, 28, was arrested after allegedly making 11 phone calls within approximately 30 minutes to the facility on the night of November 19, 2025. The calls reportedly began around 10:58 p.m., prompting Texas County 911 dispatchers to notify law enforcement.

Investigators allege Evans repeatedly demanded to speak with an employee at the nursing home, identified in reports as his ex-girlfriend, who worked there as a certified nursing assistant. Authorities say the tone of the calls escalated, with Evans allegedly making violent threats that led officials to treat the situation as a serious security concern.

As a precaution, the facility — identified in local reporting as Hickory Manor — was placed on full lockdown while deputies responded and confirmed Evans was not in the immediate area. Reports indicate approximately 40 residents and a small number of staff members were inside the building at the time. No injuries were reported.

Charging documents cited by local media state that during one call answered by a responding officer, Evans allegedly made additional threats toward the officer and others who intervened, as well as a separate claim involving harm to the employee’s dog. Those allegations are based on law enforcement reporting and have not been independently verified.

Evans has been charged with making a terrorist threat in the first degree, a Class D felony under Missouri law. Court records referenced in local reporting show his bond was set at $3,000 cash-only. The case remains pending in Texas County court.
